ROOTS & FOUNDATION

Early Life and Family

School Days

My love for sports started in school at Budhanilkantha Secondary School in Kathmandu. When I was in ninth grade, I began learning athletics. I was drawn by the discipline and excitement of physical activities.

Family Support

My father, Krishna Bahadur Rai, was a great athlete from the 1980s. He was my biggest role model. Following in his footsteps, I faced none of the family resistance that many young athletes face. Instead, my family always supported me, which helped me follow my dreams without barriers.

The Dream

From a young age, I was captivated by martial arts. I dreamed of a future where this dynamic discipline could take me to national and global recognition. I believed in its potential for fame and honor, so I committed fully to martial arts.

THE PATH OF MASTERY

My Martial Arts Journey

1

Starting with Taekwondo

My journey started with Taekwondo during winter breaks. I learned the basics of martial arts through structured drills and sparring. This helped me build skills in agility and precision.

2

Learning Wushu

After Taekwondo, I moved to Wushu. I spent about three years mastering its fluid forms and strategic depth. This gave me a strong foundation in traditional martial arts.

3

Finding Wuma Kung Fu

Finally, I found my true calling in Wuma Kung Fu. This traditional style connected with my heritage and dreams. It was through Wuma Kung Fu that I built a lasting legacy, earning awards both at home and abroad.

LEADERSHIP & VISION

Leading Wuma Kung Fu

President of Nepal Wuma Kung Fu Association

Elected President in November 2024 during the fifth Annual General Meeting. Previously served as a vice President of the organization.

As a former competitor, I’ve lived the journey: grueling national trials, long international travels, intense training, and the constant pressure to perform. These experiences give me deep insight into the real challenges athletes face every day.

My focus is clear—prioritize athlete welfare, ensure fair treatment, protect rights, and create better opportunities for growth. Under this leadership, we’re committed to taking WUMA Kung Fu to new levels while staying grounded in respect, discipline, and support for the next generation.

International Roles

I also serve as General Secretary of the WMAC Nepal Chapter (headquartered in Austria) and the TOA Kung Fu Denmark Nepal Chapter. These roles help Nepal's voice be heard in world martial arts circles.

Recently, the Indian Kung Fu Federation named me an honorary technical member. This helps Nepal's Wuma Kung Fu grow and inspires veteran players. This is a proud milestone for our athletes.
